Omar B. Abdulghafoor, PhD
Omar Abdulghafoor is an Assistant Professor of Telecommunications Engineering at the American University of Kurdistan. He received his MEng and PhD in Telecommunications Engineering from the National University of Malaysia. He worked in a number of Malaysian Universities since 2005 in both the education and research sectors, starting as a lecturer at Multimedia University, assistant researcher at the National University of Malaysia, Senior Lecturer at MAHSA University, Deputy Dean at Al-Madinah International University. Moreover, Omar is professionally registered as a Chartered Engineer, CEng, and has excellent experience in developing and evaluating engineering curriculum in accordance with the Washington Accord and Outcome-Based Education approach.
His research interests include Cognitive Radio Networks, Radio Resources Management for Wireless Networks, TV White Space, 5G-Based Smart Cities and Game Theory Applications in Wireless Networks.
