Diploma programs

Currently there are two Diploma programs:

  • Tourism and Hospitality Management
  • Strategic leadership

The diploma programs consist of core and two elective courses. The courses are all practical and hands-on courses where students are put in real-life situations to optimize the learning experience.
Core courses for Tourism and Hospitality Management diploma program are:

Tourism Industry

This course will introduce to the major concepts, issues, and theories of tourism and hospitality as an economic sector and topic of academic study and practical implementation. The course will cover a broad range of topics on the travel experience, business development, the impacts it has on communities, travel motivations, travel organizations. The students will also be introduced to key elements of the hospitality service and opportunities for employment within this industry. Tourism marketing, sustainability, planning, and ethical responsibility will be discussed.
In this course, students will learn contextualizing tourism within broader cultural, environmental, political and economic dimensions of society, critiquing tourism practices for their implications locally and globally; Identifying and assessing relationships and networks relative to building tourism capacity and understanding the career opportunities in the tourism Industry.
Duration: 33 hours
Price: $250

Business Models

This is an introductory course on the Business Model Canvas. It provides a general overview of the business model and covers the tools of both marketing and finance. All elements of the business model canvas will be mastered through practical tips and case studies. The nine key elements of a business model will be thoroughly analyzed: Customer Segments, Channels, Value Proposition, Customer Relationships, Key Activities, Key Resources, Key Partners, Cost Structure and Revenue Streams.
In this course, students will learn formulating a clear objective for their project, explaining why business models matter to the firm and the value they bring; applying simple-to-use tools to generate / improving their business model; evaluating how business model innovation improves business performance, doing start-up cost planning and having a clear idea about marketing techniques necessary to succeed in your project.
Duration: 24 hours

Branding & Marketing

This course will focus on the essentials of marketing and branding, the marketing mix, value creation, customer segmentation, customer lifetime value, consumer decision-making model, etc.
In this course, students will gain knowledge and skills in and across the main functional areas of business and long-term value creation as well as supervision in your personal business environment, develop creative and critical thinking and decision-making skills for complex business decisions regarding marketing and branding, supported by the appropriate use of analytical and quantitative techniques; raise knowledge and interest about the field of marketing and branding, specifically in the field of service and gain an understanding about local and international markets

Duration: 33 hours
Price: $270

Sales and Customer Service

This course provides you or your team with the skills to increase sales by asking better questions, gaining loyal repeat customers, understanding mutual languages, overcoming common sales objections, finding referral opportunities, and growing the business with professionalism and enthusiasm. Always putting your customer at the center of your business creates a service-driven culture, and this course will motivate participants to become more customer-oriented.
In this course, students will develop a clear understanding of sales and customer service team in promoting business, deliver presentations that sell; master active listening techniques to better connect with and understand clients, understand customer expectations, perceptions and needs; measure customer satisfaction, gain knowledge of the follow-up to develop long-term relationships and future business; acquire skills on effective communication with potential clients and understand sales database and its effective management.
Duration: 33 hours

For electives the students have to take two levels of English and/or Arabic courses to qualify for a Diploma in Tourism and Hospitality Management.
For Strategic Leadership Diploma program, the students have to take two language courses for electives either English or Arabic and the following three core courses (course descriptions are in the catalogue already):
