AUK and Nawroz Private Hospital Partner to Enhance Nursing Education and Clinical Training
The American University of Kurdistan (AUK) and Nawroz Private Hospital in Zakho have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on August 9, 2023, to foster a collaborative partnership. Mr. Rasheed Darweesh Battal, CEO of Nawroz Private Hospital, and Dr. Randall Rhodes, President of AUK, signed the MoU. Under this partnership, the AUK’s Bachelor’s of Nursing will design and oversee the clinical program, while Nawroz Private Hospital, as the Facility partner, reciprocates by offering suitable nursing practice opportunities and facilities. The ultimate goal is to promote excellence across the health sector in Kurdistan.
Dr. Jervy Bernardino, Chief Nursing Administrator in the College of Nursing at AUK, led the team from Nawroz Hospital on a tour of the Nursing Skills and Simulation Lab, AUK’s cutting-edge lab dedicated to the latest technologies. Dr. Rhodes remarked “We are genuinely impressed with the exceptional quality of your facilities; they undoubtedly stand among the finest in the entire Duhok region. AUK’s foremost priority is to secure partnerships with the public and private sectors, inviting them to join us in supporting initiatives that advance education and Kurdistan.”
Mr. Battal added “AUK consistently produces the best students, setting an inspiring example. This partnership is a true collaboration of equals, driven by our unwavering faith in the potential of our young generation. With the expertise that AUK brings to the table, we envision a future where our region relies more on its own healthcare resources, reducing the need to seek medical solutions abroad. The agreement between these two exceptional facilities marks a significant step for the next generation, and that, without a doubt, stands as our united goal.”
