Khedir Khedir, Ph.D.
Dr. Khedir R Khedir is the Dean for College of Arts and Sciences at AUK. As an associate professor of Physics, he received his Ph.D. in applied physics (nanotechnology) from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock (UALR), the USA in 2012. He was a postdoctoral researcher in the same university from 2012 to 2014. He also received his MSc in Applied Physics (nanotechnology) from UALR in 2010. Khedir has received his bachelor’s degree in physics from the University of Duhok (UoD) in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq in 2001. He also received an MSc degree in Theoretical Physics from the same university in 2006.
Khedir joined AUK in 2017 and has been teaching courses in both physics and mathematics. Since 2001, he has taught in several universities in both undergraduate and graduate programs. He was director of the Training and Development Center at UoD between 2014 and 2018.
His research interest is in nanotechnology, developing solid surfaces with super repelling properties toward liquids. He is also interested in the fabrication and characterization of nanostructured surfaces useful for self-cleaning and anti-icing applications and has experience with using characterization techniques. He has published in a number of international scientific journals.
