Ronald Margolin
Ron Margolin holds a BA, MA, and PhD in French Studies from the University of Connecticut. His area of intellectual interest has been religious toleration in 18th–19th century France.
Ron was on the faculty at the University of Rhode Island where he also served as Assistant to the President; and at Indiana University-Purdue University at Indianapolis where he was Assistant Professor of French and Assistant Dean of Liberal Arts. Before coming to Brown as Associate Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations (1982), Ron had been a Program Officer in Higher Education at the Lilly Endowment (1978 – 1980).
At Brown, Ron has served in various roles in Development and Advancement including Director, Corporate and Foundation Relations; Assistant and Associate Vice President for Development; Director of Volunteer Engagement; Vice President for Development and Director of Fundraising; Vice President for International Advancement and Principal Gifts, and Senior Advisor for Leadership Philanthropy. Ron established the international advancement program at Brown in 1992. In this role, Ron travelled widely and helped build collaborative programs with universities in Europe, the Near East, South Asia, and East Asia.
