On May 5, 2024, AUK hosted its second job fair, creating a platform for employers and job seekers to network with the institution’s alumni and students, who gained valuable insights into Kurdistan’s contemporary employment market.

The job fair aimed to promote workforce development in the region by:

· Encouraging job seekers to prepare for interviews.
· Providing information and tools for informed employment decisions.
· Aligning personal and career goals with labor market needs.
· Addressing employment barriers faced by AUK job seekers.
· Demonstrating the relationship between education and careers.
· Increasing awareness of labor market trends, career options, and available employment and training services.
· Providing a venue for employers to attract their future workforce.

· Motivating participants to pursue their employment goals.

Around 150 AUK students and alumni attended the AUK Job Fair 2004, which serves as a model for future workforce-related events and demonstrates the University’s dedication to fostering the professional growth of its students and alumni.
The job fair provided numerous advantages. AUK students and graduates observed how forward-thinking companies in Kurdistan are overcoming challenges. They improved their interview skills, understood the current job market better, and learned effective self-marketing in a competitive industry. Employers engaged with well-prepared candidates trained in both hard and soft skills.
The AUK job fair is annually organized by the Director of Career Services in collaboration with the Office of Advancement at AUK. The U.S. Department of State’s grant, “Supporting American-Style Education in Iraq,” enabled the establishment of Career Services.
