The KRG Minister of Higher Education visits AUK

Duhok, Kurdistan Region of Iraq – May 28, 2018 – Dr. Yousif Goran, KRG minister of higher education and scientific research, visited The American University of Kurdistan (AUK) where he presented a lecture on “Road Map to Quality Assurance in the Higher Education Institutions of Kurdistan Region” to AUK students, staff and faculty.

In attendance were several prominent government officials, and academic leaders from the city of Duhok.

AUK provost Dr. Nazar Numan welcomed the guests, and opened the lecture by calling the university ‘’an institution of higher learning that is dedicated to shaping future leaders through academic excellence.’’

Dr. Goran, minister of MHE expressed his happiness to be at AUK for the first time and addressed important issues regarding the higher education in KRG and ministry’s future plans and projects.

“It is my honor to speak here, it is my first time giving a lecture at AUK, and it makes me happy.’’ Dr. Goran acknowledged AUK’s role in boosting the level of higher education in the region, he added ‘’we consider AUK as one the international universities, and we are all proud of what the university achieved since its establishment in 2014.’’
