AUK Cares is the university’s social responsibility program that builds on the AUK mission of addressing important social issues, fostering volunteerism and ethical community service.
Established in 2015, the inaugural campaign of AUK Cares was during the war against ISIS; the campaign provided food supplies to the Kurdish Peshmerga and IDP camps in Duhok.
In 2022, AUK Cares was rebranded and relaunched to serve its mission.

AUK students and staff provided food assistance for the Peshmerga forces in Faydah, Iraq, in their demonstration of support in the war against ISIS.

AUK students visited IDP camps in Duhok and provided first aid and school supplies.

AUK’s Student Government provided winter clothes to 100 children and teenagers from underprivileged families in Khanke, Domiz, Malta, Shaxke, Gire Base, and Baroshke.

AUK's International Studies Department started a tree planting campaign entitled "#OurPlanetOurFuture" to raise awareness and celebrate Earth Day 2022.

Students, faculty, and staff of AUK cooperated with the Directorate of Duhok Dam and Artosh Company in a clean-up along the shores of the Duhok Dam.
