Partnership between AUK and Shiryan Hospital

Duhok, Kurdistan Region – November 29, 2023 – The American University of Kurdistan (AUK) and Shiryan Hospital in Duhok formalized a significant partnership through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), by Dr. Randall Rhodes, President of AUK, and Mr. Shakir Ismail, CEO of Shiryan Hospital.

Shiryan Hospital’s commitment to training nursing students is an essential component of developing future healthcare professionals’ skills and knowledge by involving nursing students in hands-on training.

Mr. Shakir stated that the primary goal of Shiryan Hospital is to provide individuals with excellent medical care without the need for them to travel abroad for treatment. This reduces the financial and emotional burden of receiving medical care in another country while also strengthening the local healthcare infrastructure.

The new facilities of Shiryan Hospital include state-of-the-art facilities, which include private patient rooms, advanced operating theaters, efficient emergency departments, and a well-equipped laboratory department.
