Zain Janjua, Ph.D.

Dr. Zain ul Abedin Janjua joined the American University of Kurdistan in January 2023 as an Assistant Professor in the College of Business. He completed his PhD in Management Sciences (with a specialization in Marketing) from Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman, Malaysia, his MPhil in Management Sciences (with a specialization in Marketing) from the International Islamic University Islamabad, Pakistan, and his MBA in Marketing from COMSATS University Islamabad, Pakistan. He has published papers in Web of Science indexed journals and also presented his papers at international conferences held in Malaysia.

His research interests include sustainable tourism marketing, brand equity, rural community-based tourism, rural tourism products, and Information and Communication Technology competency. Before starting his full-fledged academic career, he worked in both manufacturing and the service sector. His nine years of industry experience revolved around marketing; he has work experience in advertising, client services, sales, logistics, and brand management.
