Taimur Sharif, PhD, PFHEA, CMBE, CMgr. FCMI

Dean, College of Business

Prof. Taimur Sharif has worked at a diverse range of universities in the UK, the MENA region, and South Asia during his career of near three decades. He is a Distinguished Professor at Woxsen University, India, an External Examiner at Leeds Beckett University (UK), and recipient of the prestigious Principal Fellow (PFHEA) award of Advance HE, the Chartered Manager status from the Chartered Management Institute, and has “Recognised Teacher Status” from Cranfield University (UK). Additionally, he is a Certified External Examiner from Advance HE, Certified HR Professional from the Australian HR Institute-AHRI, and a Certified Business and Management Educator from the Chartered Association of Business Schools (UK).

Prior to joining AUK, Dr. Sharif was the Dean of the School of Management and Economics at the University of Kurdistan Hewler, Erbil. Previously, he served on various leadership roles, such as Head of Business at Birmingham Newman University, Director of the Faculty of Business and Management at Muscat University, Dean of the Faculty of Business and Chair of the Department of Finance and Accounting at Abu Dhabi Alhosn University, Director of Foundation Programs at London South Bank University, and Director of Research and Publications at American International University, Bangladesh.

Dr. Sharif holds a PhD in International Business and Economics from London South Bank University, MSc in Economic Quantitative Methods from Stockholm University, MA and BA (Hons) in Economics from Aligarh Muslim University, PGCE in Further Education from the University of Sussex, Diploma in Executive Development Program from German Confederation of Small Business and Skilled Crafts (Bangladesh) and HE Diploma in Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education from Stanford University.

Dr. Sharif has over 90 publications including the Annals of Operations Research, Business Strategy and The Environment, Technological Forecasting & Social Change, Psychology & Marketing, International Review of Financial Analysis, Electronic Commerce Journal, Journal of Cleaner Production, Journal of Policy Modeling, Global Finance Journal, and the International Journal of Physical Distribution and Logistics Management. He has also presented as keynote and invited guest speaker at international conferences, panel discussions, and seminars.

His teaching interests include international business, major branches in economics, and strategy> Research interests include energy economics, financial markets, digital finance, sustainable finance, and investor sentiment. To date, he has examined forty PhD/DBA theses for universities in Australia, India, and the UK.
