Thomas Hayes
Tom holds an MA in German from the University of Tennessee and a TEFL certificate from the University of Utah. He also studied in Germany and taught German in the United States. He worked as a US diplomat in Consular Affairs and the Economic Section in Cote d’Ivoire, Uganda, and Panama. He was a newspaper reporter and editor at various daily newspapers in Mississippi, Utah, and Arkansas in the United States. He taught TEFL, US foreign policy, and journalism classes in various countries, including Saudi Arabia, Armenia, Vanuatu, Hungary, and Slovakia. He currently chairs the Department of General Education at the American University of Kurdistan.
Halmat Kestai
Halmat earned a master’s degree in Media Science from the University of Mannheim, Germany. His background encompasses roles as a writer, columnist, and editor for German broadcasters. His expertise extends to marketing, media management, and linguistic endeavors. He excels in emceeing events and holds a diverse range of experiences in linguistic and creative domains. At the AUK Leopard Radio, Halmat hosts “The AUK’s Got Talent “show amongst others predominantly in Kurdish language and acts as the Radio Assistant.
Rozh
Rozh studies Accounting and Finance management at AUK. He loves reading fictional novels for entertainment. He hosts “Leopard life” highlighting students’ stories, and “cultural hour” bringing the world to your doorstep.
Adan
Adan is a dedicated nursing student at The American University of Kurdistan (AUK) with a passion for promoting health and well-being. As the host of “Dr. Leopard,” she shares valuable public health announcements to keep her community informed. Additionally, she brings positivity to the airwaves with “Positive Vibes,” where she focuses on the uplifting aspects of mental health and self-care. Adan’s friendly demeanor and genuine enthusiasm make her shows a delightful and inspiring experience for listeners!
Ibrahim
Ibrahim Ahmed, an Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering student at AUK, manages the technical operations of Leopard Radio to ensure smooth and reliable broadcasts. He is also the host of “The Curious Leopards,” a program exploring science, culture, and innovation through engaging discussions.
