The Faculty Senate represents AUK’s faculty in matters that shape the University’s academic direction, policies, and environment. Through shared governance, it ensures that faculty voices are central to institutional decision-making and that academic standards reflect the University’s mission and values.
Faculty Senators are elected from across academic departments in accordance with the Faculty Senate Bylaws. Representation is reviewed annually to ensure fair and balanced participation. The Senate elects a Chair each year from among its members and appoints a Secretary, who is responsible for recording and sharing meeting minutes with all faculty.
The Faculty Senate reviews and evaluates University policies and practices, offering recommendations to relevant offices and leadership. It fosters communication across academic units and promotes collaboration between faculty, students, and administration.
