The American University of Kurdistan (AUK) is committed to transparent, participatory, and effective governance. Through its system of board and internal governance, the University ensures that decisions are informed by diverse perspectives, guided by expertise, and aligned with institutional goals and responsibilities.
AUK’s governance structure includes the Faculty Senate, Staff Senate, Student Government, President’s Council, Administrative Council, Academic Council, and University Cabinet, each representing a vital voice in the University’s decision-making process. These bodies provide formal channels for consultation and collaboration among faculty, staff, and students, promoting communication, accountability, and continuous institutional improvement.
In accordance with University procedures, all proposals, recommendations, and concerns raised by these governance bodies are reviewed through a unified process, and the minutes of their meetings are shared with the University Cabinet to ensure transparency and responsiveness.
