Faculty Professional Development Workshop
Duhok, Kurdistan Region of Iraq – September 26th, 2019 – The Faculty members of the American University of Kurdistan participated in a day-long development workshop on Assessment.
AUK faculty members from all colleges participated in a workshop that was broken into four sections and lasted all day. The workshop was led by Dr. Lee Bash, Chief Accreditation Consultant for AUK and Dr. Honar Issa, AUK’s Secretary of the Board of Trustees and Accreditation Liaison.
Their presentation reinforced the importance of accreditation with the objective of fully understanding how and when to apply assessment using learning outcomes at the institutional level, degree program level, and course level, enabling them to cite how to improve student learning and program effectiveness through the cyclic collection and analysis of data.
AUK is committed to raising the standards of higher education in the region and to providing its students with all the opportunities afforded to internationally respected universities. To that end, the university will continue to seek professional accreditations, partnerships with other prestigious organizations, and ultimately, institutional regional accreditation from the United States.
