ELI Community celebrated the graduation of Taqa’s 250 students
Duhok, Kurdistan Region of Iraq – September 27th, 2018- The American University of Kurdistan’s English Language institute (ELI) Community in collaboration with Taqa Company celebrated the graduation of 250 students who joined English classes in Chamanke and surrounding areas.
The ceremony took place in AUK’s Auditorium in the presence of President John Menzies of the American University of Kurdistan, stating “I hope to see more of you in the future” in his opening speech.
Representatives from Taqa company have been present and described their happiness for the graduation of the 250 students “The outcomes of the classes will be promising and we look forward future collaborations.” said Tania Hussein, Taqa’s Community Liaison Officer.
Certificates were distributed on 200 present students in the ceremony, while the President of AUK handed certificates to the top 3 students of the classes. “I am very happy in this day and proud to be receiving a certificate from The American University of Kurdistan’s ELI.” Said Arkan, top one student on his class. “I look forward to see more opportunities like this and more youth benefiting from such programs in the future.” He added.
The opening of these classes took place in Chamanke village on August 15th in a special ceremony. The courses were presented as a part of Taqa Company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) strategy in Kurdistan. The aim of the program is to contribute to the development of the local economy in Taqa’s area of operations.
