Eid Al-Fitr 2023 a Joyful Celebration for the Kurdish and Iraqi Muslim Community
As the holy month of Ramadan comes to an end, Muslims around the world are preparing to celebrate Eid al-Fitr, the festival of breaking the fast. This year, the American University of Kurdistan joins the Kurdish and Iraqi Muslim community in celebrating this joyous occasion. Muslims all over the world gather in their local mosques to perform special prayers and spend the days enjoying festive foods and exchanging gifts with family and friends.
The American University of Kurdistan will observe the holiday from April 20 to April 24 as announced by the KRG. We encourage all of our Moslem students, faculty, and staff to take this opportunity to spend time with loved ones, to reflect on the meaning of Eid al-Fitr, and to renew their commitment to the values of peace, unity, and solidarity that are at the heart of Islam. Let us also give generously to those less fortunate and work together to build a world that is more just and compassionate.
On behalf of the American University of Kurdistan, we wish everyone a happy and blessed Eid al-Fitr!
