AUK and UCO Announce Exchange Program

Duhok, Kurdistan Region – November 29, 2023 – The American University of Kurdistan’s (AUK) College of Arts and Science signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Université Catholique de l’Ouest, France (UCO). Through this collaboration, AUK will launch an exchange program that will provide students of AUK’s International Studies Program (IS) with the opportunity to broaden their global awareness, promote interdisciplinary and intercultural understanding, and earn credits transferable to their degree programs at AUK.

Students can participate in the exchange program either for a semester or an academic year. The AUK participants will be nominated based on their communication skills and high academic performance, which will ensure that they not only excel in their academic studies but also have the interpersonal skills required to contribute positively to the international exchange experience.

Dr. Khedir Ramazan, Dean of AUK’s College of Arts and Sciences, believes that “the exchange program will serve as a catalyst for broadening students’ international perspectives, providing firsthand encounter with global issues.” Immersion in diverse cultures cultivates a nuanced understanding of the world and provides the insight required to collaboratively address complex cross-border challenges.”

The collaboration with UCO represents an important step forward for AUK in its mission for internationalization by fostering mobility and collaboration between AUK and international institutions.
