Graduates of national high schools, institutes, and vocational schools can be admitted based on the entry requirements below:
This type refers to students who attended a public or private school in the KRG and completed the Baccalaureate Exam. Students from high school are graduates of one of two fields of study: science or arts. Certain departments/programs require a student to have graduated from the science field. There are other conditions for admissions to programs in the college of engineering.

The American University of Kurdistan uses the guidelines of the Ministry for Higher Education of the Kurdistan Regional Government of admission to private universities (18076, Date September 18th, 2023) for accepting undergraduate students.
