The American University of Kurdistan offers scholarships for students, as per the following
conditions:
- The student must be enrolled as full-time (min. 12 credits/semester).
- The student must be self-funded (exceptions are scholarships, loans, etc.).
- The student fulfills the conditions of the specific scholarship.
Scholarships and Awards

Kurdish ethnicity residing in a neighboring country of Iraq. - Submit a complete Application for Admission
- The student must abide by the student code of conduct to remain
eligible for the scholarship. - The award recipient must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.50
for
the duration of their studies to remain eligible for the
scholarship. - Maintain full-time status, minimum 12 credits each semester, to
remain eligible for the scholarship. - Scholarship seats are limited for each program and high school
category. - The student is responsible for the full cost of all repeated,
failed, or withdrawn courses. - Any credits attempted beyond the total required credits in the
student’s study plan will be charged at the full tuition rate. - Included programs:

- The award recipient should have achieved a score of 80% or above in their baccalaureate certificate to qualify for the scholarship.
- Higher averages are required for specific majors if the student graduated from an institute.
- To qualify for the second selection stage, applicants must demonstrate English proficiency through one of the following:
- TOEFL ITP: 500+ (Conducted at AUK)
- IELTS (Paper-Based): 6.0+
- The candidate must submit a complete application for admission.
- The scholarship is valid for a period of five years from the acceptance date.
- Students applying to the Architectural Engineering program must meet the minimum TOEFL ITP or IELTS score requirements specified above.
- The scholarship is valid for a period of five years from the acceptance date.
- The award recipient must maintain full-time status, with a minimum of 12 credits each semester, to remain eligible for the scholarship.
- The award recipient must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 throughout their studies to remain eligible for the scholarship.

1. Achieve Level 4 or higher on the AUK placement test.
2. Submit a valid, authenticated certificate for one of the
following: - Financial Coverage:
- Tuition: Courses as stated in the Study Plan for the academic program.
- Financial Aid: Covering transportation or accommodation; students must apply as per individual need.

- Be a citizen or resident of Iraq and be from one of
the prioritized populations. - Have a baccalaureate score of 80% and higher.
- Submit a complete Application for Admission.
- Be admitted and enroll as a full-time student.

- Maintain full-time status, min. 12 credits each
semester to remain eligible for the scholarship.
- The student must abide by the student code of
conduct to remain eligible for the scholarship. - The award recipient must maintain a minimum
cumulative GPA of 2.00 for the duration of their
studies to remain eligible for the scholarship. - All repeated courses will be charged at the
full tuition rate. - It is not possible to change the program the
recipient is enrolled in. - Students with a cumulative GPA lower than 2.00 will
be placed on probation and will have two semesters
to reach a cGPA of minimum 2.00. Students who fail
to do so will be dismissed from the university.

- Conditions:
- The award recipient should have achieved a score of 80% or above in
their baccalaureate certificate to qualify for the scholarship. - Qualified applicants who identify as IDPs or belong to a vulnerable
population are encouraged to apply. They must provide official
documentation to verify their status. - To qualify for the second selection stage, applicants must
demonstrate English proficiency through one of the following: - The candidate must submit a complete application for admission.
- The scholarship is valid for a period of five years from the
acceptance date. - The award recipient must maintain full-time status, with a minimum
of 12 credits each semester, to remain eligible for the scholarship.
- The award recipient must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0
throughout their studies to remain eligible for the scholarship.
- The award recipient must abide by the student code of conduct to
remain eligible for the scholarship.
1. Achieve Level 4 or higher on the AUK placement test.
2. Submit a valid, authenticated certificate for one of the
following:a) TOEFL ITP: 537+ (Conducted at AUK)
b) TOEFL iBT: 75+
c) IELTS: 6+
