Transforming Healthcare Education in Iraq: AUK College of Nursing Hosts the First Clinical Simulation Conference

The American University of Kurdistan (AUK) College of Nursing and Clever Scientific Company are proud to announce the upcoming premier healthcare simulation conference, “Transforming Healthcare,” which will take place on April 28-29, 2023, on the AUK campus. The conference aims to promote awareness and encourage the use of simulation-based training in healthcare education and training in Iraq, showcasing the latest advancements and best practices in simulation-based training.

Simulation-based healthcare education is a proven modern pedagogy that enables healthcare professionals and students to acquire and enhance their clinical skills and knowledge through experiential learning in a safe, controlled, and realistic environment. The use of simulation-based training can increase learner engagement and knowledge retention while reducing the risk of medical errors and improving patient safety.

Although healthcare simulation has gained interest in the Kurdistan region, its use in healthcare education and training is not yet well-established in Iraq. As a response, The American University of Kurdistan is hosting the country’s first-ever Healthcare Simulation Conference. The conference will offer interactive workshops, panel discussions, and keynote speeches delivered by distinguished speakers.

The conference program will cover a range of topics, including the different modalities of simulation that can be used to enhance teaching and learning, evidence-based best practices for healthcare simulation, current trends, innovations, and future developments in healthcare simulation.
