The Center for Academic and Professional Advancement (CAPA) at the American University of Kurdistan (AUK) launched a new
webinar series designed to keep learners engaged, informed, and connected during a period of regional instability. The
initiative reflects CAPA's enduring commitment to lifelong learning and community resilience. To date, the series featured four webinars,
each led by educators and professionals from around the world:

The first session, delivered by CAPA team members, explored how online learning can be both effective and enjoyable. It
was followed by "Practical Philosophy: Your Space to Grow," presented by Thomas Hayes, Faculty Supervisor of Leopard
Radio and Faculty Member at the American University of Kurdistan, which offered participants accessible philosophical
tools for personal growth and mental well-being. The third session, "Master Gamma: Create Powerful Presentations in
Moments," was led by Raffi Simonian, Program Director at UCLA’s Epicenter and CAPAi Bootcamp Facilitator, who guided
participants through the use of AI-powered productivity tools to design presentations efficiently. The series continued
with "Misinformation and Disinformation: How Can I Protect Myself Against Both?" delivered by Mr. David Davidian,
Full-Time Lecturer at the American University of Armenia, equipping attendees with critical thinking skills to navigate
today's complex information landscape.

The webinar series is part of a broader strategic vision for CAPA — to stay relevant and contribute to the community by
fostering continuous learning and development even during times of conflict and isolation, to cultivate a vibrant global
community of instructors, educators, and learners, and to sustain and grow the visibility of AUK CAPA as a quality
education platform and lifelong learning provider for all.

Loucine Hayes, Director of CAPA, emphasized the importance of the initiative: "AUK CAPA is the University's primary
bridge to the community. During periods of instability, this function is not optional—it is essential. By sustaining
continuity in learning and maintaining an active presence within our learner community, we enable individuals to adapt,
build resilience, and remain professionally relevant despite disruption."
