CPHS Hosts Conflict Resolution in a Divided World Workshop at AUK
On April 20, 2025, AUK hosted Conflict Resolution in a Divided World, a workshop led by Dr. Jack Williams, President of the Institute for Global Negotiation and Adjunct Professor at Sciences Po Paris. The session introduced students to core strategies in negotiation, diplomacy, and conflict management.
Dr. Williams emphasized that effective negotiation is about creating solutions that work for all sides through open dialogue and shared interests. Students learned how sovereign states often favor negotiation and mediation over the uncertainties of international courts, and explored practical tools like compilation texts to navigate complex discussions.
The workshop equipped International Studies students with valuable skills in conflict resolution, critical thinking, and negotiation—tools vital for their future careers. AUK’s CPHS looks forward to continuing its collaboration with the Institute for Global Negotiation, with plans to host a second session in the Fall semester.
