AUK Launches Alumni Speaker Series to Empower Future Professionals
The American University of Kurdistan (AUK) has officially launched its Alumni Speaker Series, a new initiative designed to strengthen ties between alumni and the university community while offering valuable insights to current students and fellow graduates. The series provides a platform for alumni to share their professional journeys, career advice, and personal experiences, covering topics that range from industry trends to the transition from university life into the workforce.
By featuring stories of success, lessons learned, and practical guidance, the Alumni Speaker Series aims to inspire and motivate attendees, facilitate networking opportunities, and encourage open dialogue within the AUK community. Scheduled to run bimonthly, each session will spotlight a different topic—such as career planning, entrepreneurship, or postgraduate pathways—creating space for alumni to stay engaged and give back to their alma mater.
The first session of the series was held on April 21, 2025, and featured alumna Chang Tahir, who spoke on Museum and Heritage Studies at the Library’s Learning Center. She also presented her master’s thesis, earned from Ca’ Foscari University of Venice, offering students and alumni valuable insights into the field and setting a strong precedent for future sessions.
AUK looks forward to building on this momentum and continuing to foster meaningful connections through the Alumni Speaker Series in the months ahead.
