AUK Invites High School Students to Open House

Duhok, Kurdistan Region – October 26, 2023 – The American University of Kurdistan (AUK) welcomed prospective students and their parents to campus on October 21, 2023. Visitors learned about AUK’s educational model, spoke with deans and faculty members about academic programs, and gained knowledge about co-curricular and extra-curricular activities.

The event began with an informative session held in the auditorium, during which attendees were presented with a general welcome, a brief overview of the institution, and engaged in a trivia quiz on the University.

The primary focus of the event was the MEET programs, which provided students with the opportunity to freely explore the University and learn from the activities organized by each of AUK’s eight bachelor’s programs. During the treasure hunt activity organized by the Design Department, participants searched for 13 medallions by following a series of riddles. Meanwhile, the College of Nursing offered several activities, including the utilization of CPR training mannequins. The Design Department also sponsored a competition titled “Duhok Pattern”; participants presented artwork incorporating Kurdish-themed elements inside a repetitive design.

“Thanks to everyone for making this year’s Open House event a wonderful experience”, stated Ahmad Balta, Student Recruiter at AUK. “The students’ enthusiasm and curiosity lit up the day, and we look forward to welcoming them as part of AUK’s vibrant community”, he added.

Over 300 students from high schools across the Duhok Governorate attended the American University of Kurdistan’s second annual Open House event.
