AUK introduces its BIM LAB to the construction and engineering industry
Duhok, Kurdistan Region – September 13, 2023 – The Center for Academic and Professional Advancement (CAPA) at The American University of Kurdistan (AUK) developed courses for professionals in the construction and engineering industries in collaboration with AUK’s College of Engineering. These courses include Revit, Autodesk, Parametric Facade, and 3D Max.
AUK’s brand-new BIM (Building Information Modeling) and FAB (Fabrication) Labs were introduced to field practitioners and aspiring engineers at an event in the AUK Auditorium. Faculty, staff, students, and professionals can use these labs to address industry challenges and advance professional practice.
The panel discussion led by CAPA instructor Dr. Ahmed Khairadeen featured Diyar Bahry, Director General of Municipalities in the Duhok Governorate, Younis Ali, Head of Engineers at the Directorate of Municipalities in Duhok, Ghanim Hameed, Project Manager of The Avenue Towers, Dr. Razaq Farhadi, Dean of AUK’s College of Engineering, and Dr. Serhan Hakgudener, Acting Chair of Architectural Engineering at AUK.
After the panel discussion, attendees were invited for a tour of AUK’s BIM and FAB Labs, which were established in 2022 with funding from the U.S. Department of State Grant titled “Supporting American-style Higher Education in Iraq.”
