AUK Hosts Successful Blood Donation Drive in Partnership with the College of Nursing and the Directorate of Health
Duhok, Kurdistan Region – On September 30, 2025, the American University of Kurdistan’s (AUK) Office of Student Affairs (OSA) successfully organized a campus-wide Blood Donation Drive, demonstrating the University’s commitment to community engagement and student leadership.
The initiative, which was started by a group of 33 students, staff, and faculty, exceeded expectations with 40 members of the campus community donating blood.
The drive was also organized in close collaboration with the Duhok Directorate of Health and AUK’s College of Nursing. In preparation for the event, on September 24, the College of Nursing hosted a motivational session on campus. During the drive itself, nursing students played a key role in overseeing registration, conducting blood pressure checks, and assisting with the donation process.
Through this collaborative effort, AUK students, faculty, and staff once again demonstrated their commitment to civic responsibility and public health. This initiative is part of AUK’s ongoing commitment to promoting healthy choices, fostering campus engagement, and delivering meaningful services to society.
