AUK's Center of Peace and Human Security (CPHS) continued its lecture series with a presentation by international expert in Middle Eastern politics, Prof. David Romano, Missouri State University, on January 30. In his lecture, titled "Kurdistan Region’s Relations with Neighboring Countries," he addressed the historical context and contemporary challenges shaping Kurdistan's relations with its neighbors, including diplomatic interactions, geopolitical interests, and economic considerations.

CAPAx 2024: Ideas on Achieving Excellence
AUK’s Center for Academic and Professional Advancement (CAPA) launched its third CAPAx event on January 28, featuring five speeches covering a range of global and local topics.
Rahma Khalid's topic "AI" claimed first place, followed by Zhinwar Harmi's "How to Be Beautiful", and "Rethink Energy in Duhok" by Zhehat Nayef and Sulaiman Mohammed.

AUK Student Breaks National Record in Memorization of Pi
Soz Abdulhameed, a freshman at AUK’s Department of Architectural Engineering, recently broke the Iraqi record by memorizing 160 digits of PI (π). Soz performed this outstanding achievement in just 57 seconds, which grants her the official recognition of the national record on the official Pi world ranking website. “My goal was to shed global light on students from AUK, proving we also have brilliant minds and talents here in Kurdistan capable of noteworthy and significant accomplishments," Soz stated.
New Student Orientation: AUK Welcomes over 170 New Students
The New Student Orientation for the spring semester 2024 at the American University of Kurdistan (AUK) was held on January 10 and 11. The program featured a diverse range of presentations, interactive exercises, and warm welcomes, establishing the foundation for the students’ first year experience.
