Under the sponsorship of the American University of Kurdistan; the Iraqi Embassy to the United Kingdom in London convened the Youth and Competencies Conference on March 28th 2018. He shed light on the nature of our quality higher education at the American University of Kurdistan and the importance of developing youth competencies to ensure a better future in Kurdistan and Iraq in the 21st Century. No topic in AUK’s vision can surpass in importance the subject of youth, especially in the Kurdistan Region and Iraq Prime where according to UN statistics 60% of the population are below the age of 24. This is what in fact prompted AUK to sponsor this vital conference. It is critically important to prepare our youth to face the challenges of building a knowledge based economy and sustainable development.
