Zinnar Ghassem, Ph.D.

Zinnar Ghasem joined AUK as a faculty member in the Department of Information Science. He worked in the IT industry for several years as a computer engineer before moving to educations sector. He worked as a lecturer in a number of colleges and universities in United Kingdom (UK) and Kurdistan region, mainly lecturing in Computer Science related subjects. He also worked as a researcher for a number of years.

His research interests broadly related to cyber security and information security including cyber-crime, user authentication, machine learning, classification, and email detection and filtering.

Mr. Ghasem Holds a B.Sc. in computer Science from Kings College, University of London, United Kingdom (UK), M.Sc. in Computer network engineering and telecommunications from London South Bank University, UK, and is currently pursuing his PhD at the University of Plymouth, UK in Information and Cyber Security. He is also Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA).

He has published a number of conference/journal papers on cyber security and machine learning.
