Marga Jann, AIA, RIBA, DPUC
Architect and Professor Marga Jann, AIA, RIBA, DPUC, a Visiting Research Fellow at U Cambridge and Fulbright Senior Scholar, has joined AUK as Chair of the Department of Architectural Engineering. While a strong proponent of architecture as high art, she contends that sustainable, good design should be making its way into refugee and IDP camps and that upmarket affordable housing is a basic human right. Prof Jann received a BA with Honors in Sociology/Anthropology and Art/Art History from Swarthmore College, a three-year professional MArch degree from Columbia University, and a MSt in Architecture/Engineering from U Cambridge. She was a Fulbright Research Scholar at ENSBA (Beaux Arts) in Paris, and is a licensed architect in the US and Europe. Previous teaching posts have included Stanford University (CA & Paris) and Parsons School of Design (Paris). Marga is an award-winning architect and has worked around the world on government, housing, hospitality, school and luxury projects as well as on projects with a “social conscience”, particularly with her students in academe.
